I am a keen observer of the world around me.
In order to observe the intensity and subtleties in nature, I paint on location. Initially, I am drawn to the colors of nature – like a melody enjoyed before you hear the words. Mixing and observing colors in nature are my greatest joy. As I become more involved with a painting, I discover the nuances and surprises in my subjects.
Sometimes I complete my paintings in the studio. There I fine tune my work, giving the painting what it needs to be a completed piece. As always, I strive to keep my work fresh and vital.
